Blockchain technology is a revolutionary technological advancement/platform that promises to have a significant impact in various industries. To this regard, KICTANet developed a Policy Brief in order to shed light on the potential impact of the technology and the various use cases of the technology.
KICTANet is a multi-stakeholder platform for people and institutions interested and involved in ICT policy and regulation which works on ICT policies at both national and global levels.
The introduction of a Policy Brief for Blockchain in Kenya is intended to initiate and spur discussions that will provide practical solutions that will leverage Kenya’s dynamic ecosystem in the adoption and use of this technology.
From the discussion, one of the key highlights was that the industry should implement and adopt the Blockchain platform in diverse use cases shifting from a permission approach to an ask-for-forgiveness approach. It was noted that the technology created an opportunity to invest in Technology leaders in Africa as the world over is gradually shifting towards a trust economy.
The meeting was attended by Ministry of ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru and other distinguished thought leaders in the ICT industry in Kenya.
