Abigail is an Associate in the Firm’s Projects (Energy & Infrastructure) Practice. She is passionate about the intersection between law and project implementation in the transport, energy and infrastructure space.

Her main areas of interest include sustainable economic development, private equity, project finance, urban transport development and modernization and clean energy.

Transaction Highlights

  • Legal analyst in the development of a Kenya National Smart Grid Network deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform and advanced data analytics under PPP Arrangements. This entailed the review of the proposed arrangement to determine its compliance with the PPP legal framewor
  • Legal advisory and support in the provision of consultancy services to Kisii Municipality for the technical review of the Kisii Municipality Draft Municipal Fund Bill and By-Laws, and Development of the Municipal Board Charter.
  • Legal support and advisory to a private developer on the establishment of a captive solar power plant in Kenya. This entailed legal advisory on Private Sector Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and the Independent Power Producer (IPP) Licensing Process.
  • Legal support in the transaction preparation of six high-value transport and logistics assets in Kenya under a proposed PPP arrangement. This encompassed review of the Transaction Strategy Document, draft RfPs and Concession Agreements in line with the PPP Act.
  • Analyst in the study and analysis for the World Bank’s Flagship Report “Fiscal Costs and Risks from Infrastructure in an Era of High Debt Vulnerabilities”. This entailed the review and analysis of the financial statements and other documents of identified SOEs in the energy and transport sectors to assess the fiscal risks that the SOEs pose to the government.
  • Analyst in the structuring of a procurement plan for the proposed Nairobi Metropolitan Area Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) system. This encompassed an assessment of the viability of the proposed fleet leasing program for the BRT and supporting the structuring and development of a Bus Operating Company to facilitate the operationalization of the BRT system.
  • Part of the team in policy advisory for a special electricity tariff for Telecommunication Network Operators in Kenya.
  • Legal support in the development of Oserian Two Lakes Industrial Park, a fast moving private industrial park located in Naivasha, Kenya.
  • Part of team involved in the provision of Business Advisory Support Services under the Kenya Investment Mechanism Programme to support SME businesses in obtaining financing.
